Poetry Finder
Search classic poems by author or title, or get a random poem to read.
How it works
This poetry finder searches PoetryDB, a free database of classic, public-domain poems. Search by author, like Shakespeare, or by title, like Ozymandias, and tap a result to read the full poem. If you just want something to read, tap Random poem for one poem picked at random. Search is substring matching, so a short search like "love" can return many results, and the page shows the first 20 for you to pick from. Only classic poems whose copyright has expired are in this database, so you will not find modern copyrighted poems here.

FAQ
Why are there no modern poems?
Modern poems are still under copyright, so a free public database can only include classic poems whose copyright has expired.
Why does a short search return so many results?
Search matches any part of the author or title, so a common word matches many poems. Use a longer, more specific search to narrow it down.
Can I copy a poem?
These poems are public domain, so you can read and share them. Check the specific poem's status if you plan to publish it commercially.
